Britney Spears’ Music Review

Hello Beauties,

I promised you guys (in a matter of speaking) to go over Britney Spears’ music. I wrote some journal entries back at the end of 2021 to compare each of the albums marked down to each song. It is going to be a pretty lengthy review overall. I know for a fact that my opinions are pretty different than most people. I did do entries for the Bonus tracks, but I will skip over those. I am sticking with the original albums, and my list from favorite to least favorite. (The rating is 0-10, by having 0 is the worst to 10 being the best of the best, through the course of rating each song.)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #1
Thurs, July 15, 2021
Hey Sunshines,
Since Britney Spears’ conservatorship is high on the news right now I have been watching Britney Spears things. I have been watching rehearsal videos, commercials, interviews, etc…. and I have been really seeing how hard she has worked over the years. I have seen her being discriminated against based on what she wore and everything. I really didn’t see how much she has gone through… Frankly, I wasn’t a die hard fan of hers like a lot of people. I listened to a few songs, bought those few songs, and listened to them every so often on my ipod. So there are many sings that that I didn’t listen to or I heard it for the first time just within these last few weeks. For a while now I have been thinking of reviewing all her albums and rating them. That will take a lot of writing per say and a lot of listening… but out of respect for her, and her music I will see which albums or songs I liked the most. It will be an interesting side project for me to do. I hope I don’t miss any. So… I see that she has collab albums… I am not sure if I am going to do them. I want to make it through the actual albums and if I feel like doing the other ones I will… So it looks like for the albums it is..
  1.  “…Baby One More Time”- (1999)

“…Baby One More Time” (1999)
Track 1- “…Baby One More Time”
Track 2- “(You Drive Me) Crazy”
Track 3- “Sometimes”
Track 4- “Soda Pop”
Track 5- “Born To Make You Happy”
Track 6- “From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart”
Track 7- “I Will Be There”
Track 8- “I Will Still Love You” (w/ Don Phillips)
Track 9- “Thinkin’ About You”
Track 10- “Email My Heart”
Track 11- “The Beat Goes On”
Track 1- “…Baby One More Time” -[Rating 8]
Listening to this track with a clear mind I am able to watch the music video and listen to the music and listen to the music carefully. She has this deep energy and voice that can hold a note very well. It is an easy song to sing along to the dancing that is taken place has a different vibe than most music videos. She commands herself in this song. The school girl vibe is a good addition for the song. It makes it relatable for teens that are in need of that attention during their youth.
Track 2- “(You Drive Me) Crazy” -[Rating 9]
Britney is still having that school girl vibe to this video and song. It is almost like a continuing story from “…Baby One More Time.” This song is so relatable when you really like someone so much. The dancing seems a lot more clean in this video. It seems like the song passes by a little too fast. You almost have to put it on repeat a few times to get the full effect.
Track 3- “Sometimes” -[Rating 10]
I couldn’t appreciate this song when I heard it back in the day. Now that I am listening to it now and watching the video I start to realize how vulnerable this song is.. Even though there is dancing too with this it goes with the concept of the song. She sings the truths of falling in love. She sings about hiding and running away when she loves, but wants to be so close. There aren’t too many songs like this now.
Track 4- “Soda Pop” -[Rating 8]
I remember this was one of my favorite songs from Britney when I was a kid. I think I liked the fun dance vibe to it. I still appreciate this song. I think I am spending more time trying to understand what the song is about. Time going by? Dancing so much that you don’t realize the time? It’s still fun. You can really tell the deep part of her voice.
Track 5- “Born To Make You Happy” -[Rating 9]
I am not sure what to say. it is another vulnerable kind of song. It seems like it is so sad and heartbreaking. It’s like her heart was broken and wants to prove herself and love. This is a deep emotional song. You can almost tell that she is close to tears when singing. This song says so much. It has a different look that her other upbeat songs.
Track 6- “From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart” -[Rating 7]
There is a lot to be said about this song. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful. It is a song every girl can relate to. I just have a hard time believing it from the music video. The video just doesn’t match. Maybe if it was in black and white, and there wasn’t much shown? Maybe..? I mean this song is good.
Track 7- “I Will Be There” -[Rating 8]
This is another song of proving herself. She is determined to let her lover know that she is a dependable person. This song gives so much love and support. It really is a fun song to play when you are confident. It really is an enjoyable song to get hooked to.
Track 8- “I Will Still Love You” (w/ Don Phillips) -[Rating 10]
An electric start. It was very different. The male singer that sings along with her really compliments her voice. They sound so beautiful together. This song is a fantasy song. You almost feel like you are in another world. I am really vibing the mood of this song. I would have loved to see a music video for this song. I can imagine them singing side by side.
Track 9- “Thinkin’ About You” -[Rating 7]
It’s a pretty upbeat kind of song. I like this song. It is a girl’s diary feeling/thought kind of song. I keep waiting for a more raise in chorus, and it keeps me waiting. This song is really good. I just expect it to be a better kind of song. It repeats the same thing to the point where it is okay for background music.
Track 10- “Email My Heart” -[Rating 7 1/2]
Wow! An apology song. The song is outdated, but then again its an old fashioned love that every girl dreams for. I do like it. I like that she added the piano into the song. It’s just the song is a little too slow in when she is singing. It seems like at times the music is faster then her singing. It’s a good song though. I like the concept of it.
Track 11- “The Beat Goes On” -[Rating 5]
It’s an old jam/vibe going on in the beginning. The sound is different from the rest of the songs. This is not a sound that I am drawn to. It is an average song for me If I play this song enough it will eventually end up irritating me. I mean it is the only song not talking about love, really. I think this song shouldn’t have made it to the album.

Oops!... I Did It Again (album) - Wikipedia

“Oops!…I Did It Again” (2000)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #2
Fri, July 16, 2021
Hey Sunshines,
Now it is time to continue the Britney Journey. it is time to go over the “Oops!…I Did It Again” album.

“Oops!…I Did It Again” (2000)
Track 1- “Oops!…I Did It Again”
Track 2- “Stronger”
Track 3- “Don’t Go Knockin’ On My Door”
Track 4- “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
Track 5- “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know”
Track 6- “What U See (Is What U Get)”
Track 7- “Lucky”
Track 8- “One Kiss From You”
Track 9- “Where Are You Now”
Track 10- “Can’t make You Love Me”
Track 11- “When Your Eyes Say It”
Track 12- “Dear Diary”

Track 1- “Oops!…I Did It Again” -[Rating 9]
It is a different feel than her last album. It is a song that is a girl that is trying things out. It almost seems like this song is an anthem to let people know that she isn’t a little girl anymore. Even though she has the “cute” look, she wants people to know she isn’t an innocent girl that will fall in line of “falling in love” and doing the right thing always. The Mars part of the video was an interesting touch to the video. I am not sure if it really fits with the song, but it makes a statement. Her dancing improved a lot more with this one.
Track 2- “Stronger” -[Rating 9]
This is an anthem getting over people that did her wrong. It is a song that empowers young women everywhere. The video really shows just how powerful she is, that she can make it through harsh times. The video is really out there. I am almost lost for words for this song and video.
Track 3- “Don’t Go Knockin’ On My Door” -[Rating 8]
It is almost a continuation of “Stronger.” “Stronger” is that front she is putting up so the guy doesn’t know how much she is hurting, and this song is about after thinking about the relationship she can get over it. After all, the crying and tears she can get over it. This is a great beat of a song. It is a very relatable song.
Track 4- “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” -[Rating 6]
I mean the song matches its title. I am just not invested in this song like I am with the other ones. It is an average song for me. I can’t say much. The only reason why it is a bit more than average is because the song is upbeat enough where it won’t shy away.
Track 5- “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know” -[Rating 8]
This song is almost the kind of song that needs to be on the last album. Since this song feels too much like a teenage vibe. She wants him to approach her about how he feels about her, The video doesn’t really go with the song I think. It is a wonderful song when it is talking about being honest with yourself and emotions.
Track 6- “What U See (Is What U Get)” -[Rating 8]
It has a feel of “Oops!…I Did It Again,” it sounds a lot like it. I love the lyrics behind it. She mentions that she isn’t hiding who she is. She let’s you know that what is seen is who she is. I like that. It really is a raw enough song to be truthful with oneself.
Track 7- “Lucky” -[Rating 9]
How sad! It is a song about how fame makes her tired and unhappy. It is hard being a star. The video really paints the picture The fake smile, the fake pleasantries, and everything that comes with fame. It must be a sad walk of life.
Track 8- “One Kiss From You” -[Rating 9]
This track is a really powerful song. She knows what she feels when she is with someone she loves. She doesn’t want to be told that she is too young to understand the feeling. With that one kiss it gives her such power and strength where she can take over the world.
Track 9- “Where Are You Now” -[Rating 7]
It is a very slow start. it is an interesting ballad. She wants to know where his head is at so she can move on. She doesn’t want to have hope in something that doesn’t exist. It is an okay enough song to listen to. I can actually imagine a music video from this song. It bet it can say so much in a video. I probably can appreciate the song better if that is the case.
Track 10- “Can’t Make You Love Me” -[Rating 9]
A one sided love song, huh? She has such power in expressing her “crush.” She has such confidence to have a song like this. Usually one sided love songs are so sad. She seems to own and not care if its out there if it is one sided. A very brave song.
Track 11- “When Your Eyes Say It” -[Rating 8]
This song loses me a little bit. I am trying to understand what she is trying to say. I think this song is about actions say one thing, and to hear the words of ones feelings make a difference. When the words aren’t said she can tell the truth through his eyes. Looking in the eyes it hypnotizes her.
Track 12- “Dear Diary” -[Rating 8 1/2]
This song actually is about writing in a diary. Instead of confiding in friends, writing down the emotions something else, it really is a cute song that girls all around do and understand. Sometimes saying it out loud doesn’t help so writing it down in hopes some answers will resurface is a relatable course of action. Very cute song. It doesn’t really fit this album, but it is an old school method that coming back that can be a different way than the norm.

“Britney” (2001)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #3
Sat, July 17, 2021
Hey Sunshines,
It is time to continue my journey with Britney. For some reason I am ready and excited to review the next album!

“Britney” (2001)
Track 1- “I’m A Slave 4 U”
Track 2- “Overprotected”
Track 3- “Lonely”
Track 4- “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman”
Track 5- “Boys”
Track 6- “Anticipating”
Track 7- “I Love Rock N Roll”
Track 8- “Cinderella”
Track 9- “Let Me Be”
Track 10- “Bombastic Love”
Track 11- “That’s Where You Take Me”
Track 12- “What It’s Like To Be Me”

Track 1- “I’m A Slave 4 U” -[Rating 7 1/2]
This is a song for her to break away the little girl image. The dancing is a little more seductive than her other dances. This is a true breaking free type of song. The beat of the song has a very different feel. I am not sure if it is a song I will listen to all the time, but it is catchy enough to grab my attention.
Track 2- “Overprotected” -[Rating 8 1/2]
The track is a real kind of song. It is pretty raw.. This song can easily be a message telling everyone that she needs a break. She is singing about the fact that people are telling her what to do and think. She wants to break free from her chains, and express who she is. It is an intense song when you don’t overthink it.
Track 3- “Lonely” -[Rating 10]
This track really catches my attention. It is a woman empowering song. It is a song that doesn’t need him and doesn’t want him back in. Even though he hungers for her touch, she isn’t going to fall for his childish games. It is more powerful than her love songs.
Track 4- “I’m Not A Girl, No Yet A Woman” -[Rating 9]
It is really nice to have a track where its in between 2 stages of growing up as a female. She doesn’t want to be protected like a child. She wants to make mistakes and figure that out for herself. Since she realizes that she doesn’t have all the answers. The video is a very intimate video. There isn’t too many videos where she isn’t dancing. It’s like she stopped for a minute to talk to her fans and the world that she is still learning how to be herself.
Track 5- “Boys” -[Rating 7]
It has a “Slave 4 U” vibe. Between the vibe of the music and the video it seems very seductive. Of course she would have Austin Powers in her video! Haha! That is funny! it is a good beat. It isn’t a top song for me for this album, but it doesn’t lose me.
Track 6- “Anticipating” -[Rating 8 1/2]
This song is pretty fun. I am having fun with the beat where I am losing what it is about. It is a magic feel to see if a guy is really interested. I really can see myself listening to this song at all different times during the day.
Track 7- “I Love Rock N Roll” -[Rating 10]
Oh! My! God! I know it isn’t her song. She sings her own version. I love her version better than the original. She really put the “rock” vibe in her video with the guitars, leather pants, etc I almost forgot that. She made her own version, and I recently bought this, and listened to it a lot already.
Track 8- “Cinderella” -[Rating 10]
This track already gave me chills in the beginning. This song has a demanding beat that I really adore. It seems like from this song that she is a realist when making choices. She knows from that fairytales don’t work/help. Amazing song!
Track 9- “Let Me Be” -[Rating 8]
It is a song that is almost begging to let her be. She is trying to express herself that might sound confusing, but she has fight. She can’t back down and can’t stop being herself. It is a fast song. It comes and goes fast.
Track 10- “Bombastic Love” -[Rating 10]
Wow! It is a total committed song. She wants to be 100% his. It comes off like a bomb that explodes and is completely noticeable like in a movie. Love at first sight kind of thing, that feels strong. It is a very jamming track. I can really see myself falling in love with this song each time I hear it.
Track 11- “That’s Where You Take Me” -[Rating 8 1/2]
It’s another fantasy love song. I didn’t think she could make another one. This one is pretty enjoyable. It is almost like a serenade. Having that feeling causes me to really love the song. This song makes her travel so much through the love of music. (If that makes sense.)
Track 12- “What It’s Like To Be Me” -[Rating 9]
Chills! Chills! She makes her statement to make sure he knows what he is getting himself into. He has to know her, and if he can’t understand that or abide by that, than leave. I love this kind of song. She doesn’t want to play any games. it is a serious position.

In the Zone - Wikipedia

“In The Zone” (2003)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #4
Sun, July 18, 2021
Hey Sunshines,
So far it seems like each album is getting better and better for me. Now it is time to see if it will increase still.

“In The Zone” (2003)
Track 1- “Me Against The Music” (w/ Madonna)
Track 2- “(I Got That) Boom Boom (w/ Ying Yang Twins)
Track 3- “Showdown”
Track 4- “Breathe On Me”
Track 5- “Early Mornin’ “
Track 6- “Toxic”
Track 7- “Outrageous”
Track 8- “Touch Of My Hand”
Track 9- “The Hook Up”
Track 10- “Shadow”
Track 11- “Brave New Girl”
Track 12- “Everytime”

Track 1- “Me Against The Music” (w/ Madonna) -[Rating 7]
Britney and Madonna can harmonize really well together. I mean the song has a really catchy beat. Throughout the song/video I am caught between the likeliness of the song. I mean I like it, but it really doesn’t grab me in, but it also does at the same time. It is a song that just wants you to dance and enjoy your time with the music. So it is an okay song.
Track 2- “(I Got That) Boom Boom” (w/ Ying Yang Twins) -[Rating 3]
That crunking style I am not a fan of! The screaming in the beginning made me think, “When will Britney come up?” The only thing that I like about the song is the consistent beat. The lyrics don’t have me wrapped in it. Oh! My gosh! That crunking style continues. Not a fan, not a fan, not a fan of this.
Track 3- “Showdown” -[Rating 6]
This song is okay. It is an easy enough to follow. It does feel like this song is pretty lustful or sexy song, but this song isn’t what I want to follow. I mean it’s okay.
Track 4- “Breathe On Me” -[Rating 5]
Another lustful song… i just find this song too… TMI kind of song. I mean I get it that she is growing up to have more grown up songs. It’s just that it doesn’t fit what i like. The melody is nice, but that is about it.
Track 5- “Early Mornin’ ” -[Rating 6]
A late night partying night kind of song, huh? I mean I guess it goes with the vibe of the album. It has a calm following. It isn’t the worst, but not one of the best songs.
Track 6- “Toxic” -[Rating 8]
Self explanatory. A toxic kind of relationship. Even though it is a toxic situation she is wrapped and trapped into him.  Almost addicted to the bad boy vibe. It is one song on this album that I enjoy. The video doesn’t really match, but it does show dangerous choices.
Track 7- “Outrageous” -[Rating 7]
Well, the song is outrageous. I don’t know how I feel when she talks about her sex drive, but I will tell you that she is committed. I mean the title pretty much says it all. I like the beat, and its easy enough to sing along to and jam. I guess its a noticeable enough song to like in some extent.
Track 8- “Touch Of My Hand” -[Rating 9]
I like the violin added. For a second I thought it was Lindsey Stirling. There is something about this song that I really like. This song is almost her seeing how much power she has from a simple touch. I am very fond of this song.
Track 9- “The Hook Up” -[Rating 5]
This song is okay. The beat is okay, but even though it has a good beat it is a song that gives me a headache in the same instance. it’s an average song for me. I don’t really know the lyrics. For me to understand this song it will take me a while.
Track 10- “Shadow” -[Rating 8]
Talking about a version of a man? It is leaving too soon for her. She wants to know you, a glimpse of the person. It is a different type of song. Weirdly enough I am intrigued by this song.
Track 11- “Brave New Girl” -[Rating 5 1/2]
The rapping really? Not a fan of that. When she is singing its not too bad and I love the lyrics. Almost stepping out and being brave. It is an average song for me.
Track 12- “Everytime” -[Rating 9]
The song/video is so haunting. The storyline with the song and video explaining so much. I was so caught up in the emotion. it is a hard love. even though the embarrassment of abuse in a relationship she was involved in. She is so trapped to want and need the relationship to work out.

Britney Spears - Blackout - Amazon.com Music

“Blackout” (2007)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #5
Mon, July 19, 2021
Hello Sunshines,
The “In The Zone” era was a major disappointment. I think that era was trying to do newer things. I get it, but a lot of the songs I was not a fan of… now it is time for the “Blackout” era. I heard that this era was the best by the fans. I guess I will see for myself. Usually when others like something, I don’t. So we will see.

“Blackout” (2007)
Track 1- “Gimme More”
Track 2- “Piece Of Me”
Track 3- “Radar”
Track 4- “Break The Ice”
Track 5- “Heaven On Earth”
Track 6- “Get Naked” (I Got A Plan)
Track 7- “Freakshow”
Track 8- “Toy Solider”
Track 9- ” Hot As Ice”
Track 10- “Ooh Ooh Baby”
Track 11- “Perfect Lover”
Track 12- “Why Should I Be Sad”

Track 1- “Gimme More” -[Rating 9]
This was one of the songs I still listen to today. I know I really like this song. The thing I never understood was the whole stripper, pole dancing. I mean I know strippers are very limber and have out of this world dances.. regardless of that I always like this song. I don’t think there was much of a point t this song, but it is fun enough to listen to.
Track 2- “Piece Of Me” -[Rating 8]
I know that this track was about the paparazzi taking pictures and always in her business. it is a song that defends herself against them. No matter what she does they always make her look so bad. I do like that it is a song that is different from her other songs. I do like that this is a standing up for herself kind of song.
Track 3- “Radar” -[Rating 6]
This song really doesn’t do much for me. The beat of it doesn’t interest me. The whole point of the song was letting the guy know that he is on her radar. It seems like a quick hook up, and mingle song. The video was interesting enough at a horse track. Very old and classy kind of atmosphere.
Track 4- “Break The Ice” -[Rating 8]
This is an upbeat song, that I am drawn to. I heard that a lot of fans didn’t like the cartoon music video. I can see why. I am not a fan of it myself. I can easily follow this song. I like it.
Track 5- “Heaven On Earth” -[Rating 7]
Its an alright track. I can have it in the background. It’s a typical obsession kind of song. it is a classic Britney song. I am not sure how the title fits with the song, but its alright.
Track 6- “Get Naked (I Got A Plan)” -[Rating 5]
What’s with the guy in the beginning? His singing is lame. I mean the song doesn’t do much for me. I feel like the music zones out Britney. I don’t like it. It is disorientated. It is a little annoying, about average.
Track 7- “Freakshow” -[Rating 6 1/2]
I don’t know how I feel about this song. It is catchy enough. It isn’t a personal taste for me in terms of her music. I don’t really like the metallic sound to it.
Track 8- “Toy Solider” -[Rating 7 1/2]
It does catch my attention alright. This song is almost about having someone protect her? That is what I am getting from this song.
Track 9- “Hot as Ice” -[Rating 8 1/2]
I am intrigued by this song. It is an easy jamming song. The song is warning that the boys better watch out. I like this song.
Track 10- “Ooh Ooh Baby” -[Rating 7 1/2]
This song is a trance song. She only sees him in front of her. It is clearly a fantasy kind of song. I like it enough.
Track 11- “Perfect Lover” -[Rating 9]
This song really caught me. It is very intriguing. It is a song that you can hear in the club for sure. The whole meaning of this song is like the other meanings of the other tracks on this album.
Track 12- “Why Should I Be Sad” -[Rating 6 1/2]
I can’t hear the meaning of the lyrics. The beat hides her voice. So it is fine to listen for the beat.. and that is about it.

Britney Spears' 'Circus': Cover art revealed! | EW.com

“Circus” (2008)

Britney Spears

Britney Journey #6
Tues, July 20, 2021
Hey Sunshines,
Ehh.. The “Blackout” era was okay. It didn’t do so much for me. There were some songs I liked. I actually went over the albums in my journal and bought the songs I rated high on… After I bought some I thought, “Uh-oh! Did these sales actually go to Britney or her dad?” I felt a little dirty after that.
Anyway.. I came across another artist while browsing on Britney. Yes, not only am I listening to Britney’s music I am also listening to interviews, and news related things regarding her… I have been very busy on Youtube lately.. Anyway in the midst of that I came across Selena Gomez.
There was a video of Selena going into a radio station in Paris. There was the whole gossip about a fan blackmailing her by stealing her sunglasses for concert tickets. So from this video a lot of fans talk about how classy Selena took care of the situation. They were also talking about how humble and nice she is.
I personally never heard a song from her. Well, if I did I bypassed it because I never followed her music. So I am thinking when I am done with Britney’s I will move on to Selena.
Anyway… it looks like it is time for the “Circus” era. I am excited about this one. I know I have some songs from that era.

“Circus” (2008)
Track 1- “Womanizer”
Track 2- “Circus”
Track 3- “Out From Under”
Track 4- “Kill The Lights”
Track 5- “Shattered Glass”
Track 6- “If U Seek Amy”
Track 7- “Unusual You”
Track 8- “Blur”
Track 9- “Mmm Papi”
Track 10- “Mannequin”
Track 11- “Lace And Leather”
Track 12- “My Baby”

Track 1- “Womanizer” -[Rating 9]
I knew I liked this song. I bought this a long time before. The video expresses the concept of taking advantage of women. This was a song that really jumped out when it came out. It is a lot more lustful than what Britney has done, but it is in the same realm.
Track 2- “Circus” -[Rating 10]
The song said so much between the lyrics and video. In this era this was my favorite song. I love the “Circus” video, because it explains her life so well. it makes it so obvious. I love that she still includes her dancing. That is what Britney is known for.
Track 3- “Out From Under” -[Rating 9]
This has that dreamy aspect. It almost reminds of her older ballads. This song is super lovely. This has a deep and vulnerable feel. I am really drawn to this song.
Track 4- “Kill The Lights” -[Rating 7]
Another animated music video, really? It has a nice beat. I think the whole lights on her gets distracting and such. She wants to kill the lights off. It’s a small song. I think it could have been longer.
Track 5- “Shattered Glass” -[Rating 9]
This was one song that I bought a while ago too. I remember loving this song so much when I heard it. It is a perfect song talking about another woman. It is a song that the man broke the trust, just like shattered glass.
Track 6- “If U Seek Amy” -[Rating 9]
I know about the innuendo of the title. Clever very clever. I get the whole point of the video. The video helps to explain the song. It is like a hidden identity. In front of the media she puts up a front, where behind close doors its a whole other story. It is a good beat song with easy lyrics.
Track 7- “Unusual You” -[Rating 7]
This track has a different vibe. I like it. It is different where it doesn’t fit with the rest of the album. I like the song’s message. It is a song for her finding the perfect person. She can be herself and not have a broken heart. So lonely.
 Track 8- “Blur” -[Rating 7]
It is a good night partying or drinking last night kind of song. It is an interesting song, and beat. I can enjoy this song.
Track 9- “Mmm Papi” -[Rating 7]
I am a little confused by this song. I am not sure how I should take this song. Is it about her dad or like someone else’s dad? Anyway it has a fun beat. So I like the fun aspect of the song.
Track 10- “Mannequin” -[Rating 6 1/2]
“Love is like a mannequin” ?? Huh? That is a different look to love. It is a different kind of song. I mean it is fine, but it isn’t a top song for me. It is catchy for me.
Track 11- “Lace And Leather” -[Rating 8 1/2]
An interesting trade. It is a fantasy/real girl mixed into one. I am really drawn to this song. It is pretty good. An enjoyment.
Track 12- “My Baby” -[Rating 8 1/2]
Shivers down my spine. It is a tad too slow for me. Is this about her son? This is such a sweet song! Aww! She sings about how her baby is such a blessing.

Britney Journey #7
Hello Sunshines,
It is time to continue on with the journey.

“Femme Fatale” (2011)
Track 1- “Till The World Ends”
Track 2- “Hold It Against Me”
Track 3- “Inside Out”
Track 4- “I Wanna Go”
Track 5- “How I Roll”
Track 6- “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” (w/ Sabi)
Track 7- “Seal It With A Kiss”
Track 8- “Big Fat Bass” (w/ Will-i-am)
Track 9- “Trouble For Me”
Track 10- “Trip To Your Heart”
Track 11- “Gasoline”
Track 12- “Criminal”

Track 1- “Till The World Ends” -[Rating 10]
This track is so intriguing. This song is definitely memorable. The video totally fits the song. It is a song to keep partying even when the world is about to end. There were rumors about the world ending in in 2012. So I think she has this song about that. This song is one of the faves I have of hers.
Track 2- “Hold It Against Me” -[Rating 10]
This song rings in my head. The melody helps me remember. I remember always loving this song. I like the videos of her other songs within the video. I love the dancing scenes. The other videos didn’t show her dancing, and I love that this is a part of that. This is a wonderful song that wants closeness. This song is very powerful if you really pay attention to the battles within the video.
Track 3- “Inside Out” -[Rating 8 1/2]
This song really jumps out. It almost punches you. It is a song that talks about someone driving her crazy and knows her so well. I really like it. It isn’t something I am use to hearing from her. Pretty good song.
Track 4- “I Wanna Go” -[Rating 9]
Wow! With the song and video is an “F U!” kind of song. I think she knows about the crazy rumors than she will just embrace them, and not care. This is kind of a funny video. This video has me going, “You go, Britney!”
Track 5- “How I Roll” -[Rating 6]
I don’t like the added voices/noises in the background. It has a good beat, but the point of the song doesn’t strike me much. I don’t like it too much. I mean it could be worse.
Track 6- “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” (w/Sabi) -[Rating 7]
This has a catchy enough beat for this track. I am not exactly sure about the lyrics. Maybe it is because he is so good looking that it pains her?? It is different.
Track 7- “Seal It With A Kiss” -[Rating 7]
It is another catchy track. It is a song that is alright, but I don’t find it absolutely outstanding. I will have no problem listening to it.
Track 8- “Big Fat Bass” (w/ Will-i-am) -[Rating 0]
I don’t see literally anything about this song that I like. It is a very annoying song. It is a song that can’t finish faster. I don’t like it at all.
Track 9- “Trouble For Me” -[Rating 6]
This song doesn’t do much for me. I don’t know what to say about it. The skipping part and scratches I find it very annoying.
Track 10- “Trip To Your Heart” -[Rating 7 1/2]
A song for her and her significant other to be close. It is a bit of a fantasy kind of song. This song is a better transition from the last one. It is a pretty alright song.
Track 11- “Gasoline” -[Rating 8 1/2]
This one is a fun enough song. Starting a spark with gasoline. A bit of a rebellious type of song. I kind of like it. It is an enjoyment.
Track 12- “Criminal” -[Rating 9]
I am getting shivers. This video is pretty powerful. It is a 360 kind of song. It is a song that you always have to look good and follow the rules. It is a break away from rules. I like the song.

Britney Journey #8
Hey Sunshines,
It’s been a while, but it is time to go down the Britney rabbit hole. I was dreading this one, because I heard that Britney isn’t actually singing these songs or some of them. I heard they got someone to sing for her. I don’t know the actual truth.. so I have to review the album. Anyway time to get started…

“Britney Jean” (2013)
Track 1- “Alien”
Track 2- “Work Bitch”
Track 3- “Perfume”
Track 4- “It Should Be Easy” (w/ Will-i-am)
Track 5- “Tik Tik Boom” (w/ T.I)
Track 6- “Body Ache”
Track 7- “Til It’s Gone”
Track 8- “Passenger”
Track 9- “Chillin’ With You” (w/ Jamie Lynn)
Track 10- “Don’t Cry”

Track 1- “Alien” -[Rating 2]
This song has me caught in the voice. It doesn’t sound like Britney at all. This song doesn’t sound like a song Britney would sing to. It isn’t her style from even her early years. I think I would enjoy it if it was on someone else’s album. On a Britney album I won’t give it that high.
Track 2- “Work Bitch” -[Rating 0]
I don’t like this song at all. There isn’t a nice flow for me to enjoy the song. It is too retro for me. The only positive is that she looks good in the video…that is about it.
Track 3- “Perfume” -[Rating 3]
I think it’s okay, but doesn’t “wow” me. I keep reading comments saying this is her original voice. Weirdly enough I don’t believe that at all. I don’t like the dominating concept of owning the guy with perfume. Don’t really like it.
Track 4- “It Should Be Easy” (w/ Will-i-am) -[Rating 0]
The skipping concept on her voice I don’t like. This song doesn’t flow for me. I am ready to switch it to the next song. I really hate it. I don’t even care about the lyrics at this point.
Track 5- “Tik Tik Boom” (w/ T.I) -[Rating 1]
Oh goodness. The only thing with this song is it flows okay. I actually don’t understand the concept of this song.
Track 6- “Body Ache” -[Rating 5]
This song reminds me of Britney’s voice that I know. It is easy to determine the concept of the song. She is all about having fun and dancing. I don’t like the music during the chorus, but besides that it is okay.
Track 7- “Til It’s Gone” -[Rating 4]
The flow is alright, but it doesn’t really do it for me. The retro/futuristic music doesn’t go with this song very well. It is a lot calmer to listen to compared to the other songs.
Track 8- “Passenger” -[Rating 3]
The build up to the song, is so ANNOYING. I am really trying to like this song, but there is something missing for me. It’s like the singing is cut short on certain points.
Track 9- “Chillin’ With You” (w/ Jamie Lynn) -[Rating 5]
This song has a different feel than the rest of the album. It flows so nicely. It has almost a country vibe. I just don’t like it when it goes with the chorus, “I am chillin’, with chu.” That part is kind of annoying.
Track 10- “Don’t Cry” -[Rating 5]
It’s an a-okay kind of song. I can feel the concept of the song clearly. It is a nice enough song to play in the background.
Overall rating to album:

Britney Spears Surprises Fans With New Cover for 2016's 'Glory' - Variety

“Glory” (2016)

Britney Spears

NOTE: For this album, when I wrote it in my journal it was different list of songs. I saw that there are different kinds of lists, and it mainly says that it is the Deluxe Edition. I went off the list on Spotify, because I wanted to make sure it isn’t the Bonus tracks. Whether the list is correct or not.. bare with me!

On Another NOTE: I didn’t finish listening to the other tracks that I thought were Bonus tracks… I only listened to 2 tracks originally. so I will have to do that now.

Britney Journey Finale
Tues, August 17, 2021 (And May 12/13, 2022)
Hello Sunshines,
It is time to finish up the Britney journey with her last album.

“Glory” (2016)
Track 1- “Invitation”
Track 2- “Make Me” (w/ G-Eazy)
Track 3- “Private Show”
Track 4- “Man On The Moon”
Track 5- “Just Luv Me”
Track 6- “Clumsy”
Track 7- “Do You Wanna Come Over”
Track 8- “Slumber Party”
Track 9- “Just Like Me”
Track 10- “Love Me Down”
Track 11- “Hard To Forget Ya”
Track 12- “What You Need”

Track 1 “Invitation” -[Rating 3] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
Is her voice altered? It has another dream sequence feel. I feel that the song is going all over the place. It is almost like she is trying to find her sound for the song. It isn’t a song that I would invest in buying. I like the calmness of it.
Track 2- “Make Me” (w/ G-Eazy) -[Rating 7] (Listened to 8/17/2021)
It is a good enough song to vibe.  It is very sensual and everything. The video really makes the song likeable. it has a nice flow that I like in a song.
Track 3- “Private Show” -[Rating 5 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
I do like the Caribbean vibe to this song. The consistency of the the beats are a nice listen. I am still wondering if they did something to Britney’s voice. It kind of sounds like a chipmunk. The lyrics are a little choppy. The lyrics could have been better. It is an average song for me.
Track 4 “Man On The Moon” -[Rating 8 1/2 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
Slow retro start. It is an easy mind traveling song. It is a pretty romantic song. I like this song. It is a bit of “In The Zone” dreamy.
Track 5 “Just Luv Me” -[Rating 5] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
I am trying to see if I like this song or not. I don’t know. Her voice is like whispering seductively. It is kind of desperate. Since I am trying to understand it and like it, I will mark it an average rating.
Track 6 “Clumsy” -[Rating 6 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
This song has the old “jive” feel. I like that kind of beat. The beat grows into something more. It is a very interesting transition. The song caught be a bit. It isn’t super amazing, but fun enough to listen to here and there.
Track 7 “Do You Wanna Come Over” -[Rating 4 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
It has a deep beat. Is it just me, but has some “Work Bitch” vibes? It isn’t very terrible, but honestly I can’t follow it. It doesn’t do much for me, but is catchy to a fault.
Track 8 “Slumber Party” -[Rating 6 1/2] (Listened to 8/17/2021)
Bits of the song are a little annoying, but I like the concept. I like that she has a song about hanging out with the girls.
Track 9 “Just Like Me” -[Rating 6 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
A ballad? It picks up a bit. The comparison between her and another woman. It is an overall interesting concept. I can see a video clearly for this song. The repeating of this song is a little too much were I lose interest a bit.
Track 10 “Love Me Down” -[Rating 6 1/2 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
There are so many finger snapping tracks on this album. I kind of lost a little interest with this song, because I heard so many from the others. I don’t know what she really means by her wording. Is it a sexual thing? It has a beat that I am drawn to a bit. A lot of alternating should have been done to make this track better.
Track 11 “Hard To Forget Ya” -[Rating 7 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
This starts intriguing in the lyrics. I feel like I am in one of the kaleidoscope toy that keeps turning and turning. I don’t know why or how I feel that, but it pulls me in. I am not sure what it is about, but I am hooked in.
Track 12 “What You Need” -[Rating 3 ] (Listened to 5/12/2022)
I see what she was trying in this song, but I don’t like the direction of this song. Her voice and the beats don’t go very well to match. It is a bit annoying.
Overall rating to album:
